The office of Community Safety invites all community members to provide feedback to us on our services by using the Let Us Know How We’re Doing on our website. Feedback may be made anonymously or with your name and contact information if you would like follow up.

Location: Residence hall
Notes: A CSO responded to a request for medical assistance in a residence hall. Upon arrival, the CSO met with a student who had received an injury. The CSO provided first aid supplies, which the student self-administered. The student thanked the CSO for their assistance and the CSO resumed their patrol.

Location: Eliot Hall
Notes: A CSO responded to a report of a bike theft from the north side of Eliot hall. The CSO met with a Reed employee who stated that they had secured their bike at the bike rack earlier that evening. The bike is described as a black and red “Specialized” road bike.

Notes: A CSO on patrol of Trillium encountered the remains of a cannabis joint on the fourth floor balcony. The CSO disposed of the joint and continued on their patrol.

Location: Quad
Notes: A CSO on patrol in the quad encountered new graffiti painted on a picnic table in the Quad. As the graffiti was specifically targeting a member of the Reed community, building services was contacted for removal of the graffiti.

Notes: A Reed community member contacted Community Safety to report that they had been assaulted off campus. The Dispatcher offered the reporting party information for both on campus and off campus resources available if desired.

Description: Medical Assist - Other
Location: 28 West
Notes: A student arrived at 28 West to receive medical assistance for injuries sustained earlier that day. A CSO administered first aid and the student then received a ride to a nearby medical facility for further care and evaluation.
CS Survey Responses:
Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.
In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.

Medical Assist

In an emergency situation, Community safety seemed pretty lax about transportation to hospital. Used taxi service that was longer wait time than Uber/Lyft/other services. “Good luck” wasn’t the most reassuring care for the situation.

I thought I lost my badge and keys. Community safety was kind enough to let me into my office. Thankfully I had left the badge and keys in my office and did not have to replace. While I have the chance, I would like to thank all of the community safety team for their work on campus. All interactions that I have had with your team have been positive.
