The student was left in the company of friends with instructions to call if the student’s condition worsened.
CS Survey Responses:
Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.
In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.
You can take the survey here:

The person I spoke to on the phone and the person who unlocked my door where friendly and understanding!

The CSO created an air of mistrust that was in wholly unnecessary when the call was for a door unlock. The unlock went on as expected but the initial encounter was strained unnecessarily and unacceptably.

I don’t recall this degree of enforcement in past renn fayres, but I guess the COVID break is a good time to make new students think this is the way it’s always been

Don’t get me wrong, the CSO that gave me my AOD was very sweet and the process was alright, but during Renn Fayre Champagne was spilling everywhere, reedies were pounding back shots and walking around with full bottles of wine right by CSOs, and I get an AOD for hitting a weed pen? That feels wrong as I wasn’t violating Reed’s smoking policies since I was outdoors plus all I did after that was eat a hotdog and take a nap. I get that this is probably just standard procedure for you guys but there are bigger fish to fry. Kids are dying left and right from fentanyl overdoses in our community. And the drug that I’m guessing the most amount of kids got AOD’s for at Renn Fayre, again, RENN FAYRE, was a non-addictive natural substance that cannot kill you? You cannot say the same for alcohol.
Medical Assist
Met expectations
Community safety helped me with my medical issue, assisted the paramedics, and kept me distracted when I needed it (thank you (redacted)!). My only suggestion is to buy aspirin.

While I understand the nature of being a campus that receives federal funding and must follow federal guidelines, I received an AOD for the possession of a substance that I have a doctor’s recommendation for and use to treat chronic pain. There should be at least some wiggle room in terms of situations like mine and reprimanding students who have medical use cards. Thank you.
