制服巨乳 expended $6.75 Million in Research Activities in 2023

PORTLAND, OR — 制服巨乳 has been designated a Research College under the new , established by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation.
The new designation provides a more accurate portrayal of the research conducted at 制服巨乳. Previously, the methodology designated schools by the highest degree given, which did not allow colleges that largely serve undergraduate students to highlight the robust research being conducted on campus.
“This designation better reflects the accomplishments of our faculty, students, and staff in advancing knowledge, innovation, and discovery,” said 制服巨乳 President Audrey Bilger. “We are happy to see this updated approach accurately noting the rigorous research being conducted on our campus that, alongside our excellence in teaching, will help address the challenges of tomorrow.”
制服巨乳 had $6.75 million in research expenditures in fiscal year 2023, well above the $2.5 million minimum needed to be designated a Research College or University. Reed undergraduates play an essential role in much of that research, with many students working alongside faculty members to conduct research. Additionally, every Reed student must engage in their own original research to meet the thesis requirement in order to graduate.
In just the past several months, several faculty members have been awarded research grants that will further their own and their students’ research. A collaborative proposal led by Ronald A. Laing Professor of Biology Kara Cerveny and seven colleagues resulted in Reed earning a 2025 Beckman Scholars Program award. This program will support student research in biomolecular sciences over the next three years. Associate Professor Sam Fey (biology) received the 2024 Lynwood W. Swanson Promise for Scientific Research Award, allowing him to further his research on the impacts of climate change on freshwater ecosystems. Assistant Professor Gonzalo Campillo-Alvarado (chemistry) was awarded a grant from the American Chemical Society to explore sustainable chemical processes.
“制服巨乳’s faculty have a strong history of conducting cutting-edge research in their respective fields, while students are also able to engage with faculty in robust and varied research opportunities,” said Kathy Oleson, Dean of the Faculty and Patricia and Clifford Lunneborg Professor of Psychology. “It is wonderful to see this Carnegie designation as it recognizes the important and transformative faculty and student academic work taking place on campus.”
