to get an idea of your family’s expected family contribution and of your eligibility for financial aid.
While your family contribution and aid eligibility at Reed may vary from the results of the net price calculator due to the use of estimated or incomplete family financial information, the result will give you a starting place to begin family conversations about the affordability of a Reed education.
The calculator is not intended as a replacement for good, old-fashioned conversation. If you have concerns, questions, need more information, or just want to talk about your circumstances, please feel free to contact us.
Here are some important things to know about the net price calculator:
- The calculator is NOT an application for admission or financial aid
- The results provided by the calculator are only estimates of your expected family contribution and aid eligibility at Reed and are not an official offer of financial aid.
- If your parents are divorced, separated, or never married, Reed will require financial information from your non-custodial parent and use that information in the determination of your family’s expected contribution. The calculator should be completed by the custodial and non-custodial parents individually, then the separate family contributions should be added together to determine the total family contribution. The addition of the non-custodial parent contribution will decrease any estimated institutional grant eligibility and increase your net price commensurately.
- The calculator is designed to give you an indication of how much and what types of financial aid you might qualify for if you were a first-year college student attending Reed full time during the 2024-2025 school year. Policies used to calculate the family contribution and award institutional, state, and federal financial aid may change annually.
- The calculator is intended for use by U.S. citizens and permanent residents. It is not applicable for Canadian or other international students.
- The results are only as reliable as the data you provide.
- Generally, students under 26 are considered dependent in determining eligibility for institutional grant funding at Reed, even if you qualify as an independent student for federal financial aid. To receive a more accurate estimate of your eligibility for financial aid at Reed, you should complete the calculator using both you and your parents’ financial information.
